"A More Cautious Orgy"
Oh, dear. Miami, Miami, Miami. What a love/hate relationship we have.
A suggestion for the slogan for next year's haute-tastic blowout: "Basel without the 'L'"
Sure, there were some fantastic works. But on a whole, it seemed to reflect Miami's ubiquitous, tragic foible - too haute, too contrived, and too anticipatory of what it thinks people want. Unfortunately, these anticipations usually forecast desire for unimaginative tacky dreck en masse.
As usual, my love lies in the old-school offerings. Perhaps I have just seen one too many giant neon word signs executed in Century Gothic. For some reason, a giant orange, gnat-attracting "AMERICA" just doesn't do it for me anymore.
