Things I Like Today: July 8, 2008

The Gorey House online store.

C.O. Bigelow.

Argyle.

Badminton in the park - the perfect summer sport.

Bumble & Bumble hair products.

Gilmore Girls re-runs. There are so few shows set in delicious New England, and this was the best of the best.

Keep Calm and Carry On. A favorite of Rupert Grint.

Edible Arrangements (www.ediblearrangements.com).

Little Manhattan - this film is wonderfully whimsical. It's being shown on Lifetime (don't let this deter you) this Thursday night. If you have not seen it, forgo the Grey's re-run.

My unbridled excitement for Mamma Mia: the movie.

Mind the Gap doormat. Takes you back to the good old days in the tube every time you return home.

Burberry pink wellies

Eliza B. school spirit flip flops. Fortunately, this example picture from the website conveniently features Miami's colors.

The Stuff WHite People Like book. Thank you, thank you, thank you Adrian for sending this to me for my birthday! This book is unstoppable. Christian Lander is an ace. His blog was only the beginning of the brilliance.

#56: Lawyers: "When white people reach the final year of their arts degree they are faced with a horrible realization: their degree is worthless. Thsi realization is especially harsh since most white people have spent the previous three years assuming they would be immediately offered a six-figure job as a travel writer or film executive upon graduation. They soon realize that there are thousands of other white people moving to San Francisco and New York searching for work in publishing, other media, and the nonprofit sector.
As if this wasn't enough of an insult, white people also learn that the salaries in these fields arenot enough to support a white lifestyle. Organic food, trips to India, Priuses, microbreweries, modern furniture, and condominiums are all very epensive and very essential to white people.
By attending law school, white people are able to make six figures without having to do math."

#60: Toyota Prius: Some white people pull the ultimate move: Prius, Apple sticker on the back, iPod rocking, and Democratic candidate bumper sticker. Unstoppable!
Also, if you see a white person in a Prius you can say, 'Wow, it's great to see that you're doing something for the Earth.' The white person will feel very good about themself and offer to drive you home or to IKEA, or to drop you off at '80s night."

Water balloons. And subsequent fights.
